How the
Clamms Family began
It takes years of passion and commitment to your craft to be able to deliver unbeatable quality and service, first time, every time.
If you’re a chef you know that as well as we do.
Clamms Seafood has been supplying the freshest, best quality and traceable catch to Melbourne’s leading chefs and eateries since 1989. It all started with our founders – Con Andronis and George Kaparos.
When these two fine fishmongers first set up shop next door to Prahran markets, they had a vision to use their combined decades of experience to become wholesalers known for unbeatable quality and service. A year into business, they moved to their new premises in Acland Street, St Kilda.
From here, it didn’t take long for Clamms Fast Fish (as it was known back then) to establish itself as the go-to fishmonger of the town’s top chefs and restaurants.
But as Clamms grew to become Melbourne’s biggest wholesaler in seafood, it soon became clear that the small St Kilda storefront wasn’t going to hold. So we cast our net to a mighty different home – what would later become the multimillion-dollar facilities at our Yarraville processing and distribution centre.
These days, our inner-Melbourne seafood hub allows us to deliver on the same values and stellar reputation we’ve had since the beginning, only now with even greater reach, capability and support for our customers than ever before.
