Market Report

Fishing zones in New Zealand have been hit by an Arctic weather front bringing icy conditions and most importantly strong winds which will certainly impact supply this week. Locally the weather has been a lot calmer so Snapper, Live scallops, Garfish and other southern species have and will come through Clamms this week. The current Bulk Buys have changed a little bit with the addition of some frozen products so check them out! You can also pick up some Ling and NZ King Salmon fillets for a great price on the Bulk Buys! Western Australian Octopus is unfortunately out of stock for the next two to four weeks until new season stock becomes available. New season stock of Glacier 51 Tooth fish has had a small delay at AQIS but we expect to have it back in our freezers before the end of August. The big prawn boats of west and northern Australia have been out targeting large Skull Island tiger prawns since the start of the month, these state of the art vessels are fully equipped to catch, process and pack on the water giving them the ability to stay out for 4 months straight! Don't be alarmed though as they are expecting to be able to ship the first new season Skull Island prawns to Clamms by the second week of September, we'll be sure to keep you all posted.
