The guys here at Clamms hope you all had a great Easter break! Supply is a little better than expected coming out of a four day weekend. Farmed species like Salmon, Trout, Kingfish, Cone Bay Barramundi, Cobia, Saikou Salmon and New Zealand Salmon are all fresh and in stock and will continue to be our rock in supply terms. Wild fish like Blue eye, Hapuka, Rockling, Calamari, Flounder, Blue swimmer crabs and Flathead in particular will be inconsistent and quite expensive this week with no future delivery dates yet advised for some of these species. Most other varieties have held in price (Tuna, Trevally and Shark) while some have softened like Blue Grenadier and Trumpeter is on bloody special! We didn't see any real treats at the market this morning except some local Calamari and the pictured Coral trout which are exceptional. Fresh cooked and sashimi grade prawns came to an abrupt end just before Easter with Clamms being informed the day before our usual delivery day! Crystal Bay prawn harvesting will recommence in July but in the meantime we are holding good volume of frozen stock to keep you all out of trouble.
