We are currently in between quota's in New Zealand meaning that supply of John Dory, Bass Groper, Blue eye and Hapuka will be difficult until around the 1st of October when the new quota starts. This lack of seafood from NZ will inevitably impact prices and put pressure on supply of local Blue Eye and Hapuka which is already quite short for the demand. Large Snapper has so far proven elusive but we've all crossed our fingers for better catches. Local species like King George Whiting and Garfish have been a little scarce and a little small so far this week although other local species like Rock Flathead, Sand Flathead, Red mullet and fresh scallop meat have been caught in good volumes and some prices have softened. We have some Marlin in this week, priced really well and a bit of a treat. Check out the Bulk Buys this week for great specials on Rockling and Ocean Trout, the fabulous Mooloolaba Tuna Company Mojama is on special for the next little while and presents a great opportunity to samples this beautiful Spanish product with a local twist.
