Market Report

19-08-2014

Diamond clams will be quite scarce over the next 3 to 4 weeks due to some temporary process changes in New Zealand, frozen stock will be available when we run short of fresh Diamonds. Fresh Vongali is very consistent at the moment and is a good substitute while Diamond clam supply is interrupted.

Spanish mackerel, Flathead, Rockling and Trevally are all really good value this week and all these species should be available all week, some are on offer as a Bulk Buy also. We have good volumes of skinless and boneless Sea Bream and Gurnard on order with New Zealand these lines will be available from Thursday morning. Speaking of NZ check out the attached Bass Groper! Beautiful fish! Hapuka and Blue Eye are a little scarcer this week so prices have come up a little bit but we are expecting to be able to keep up with demand anyway. The weather forecast for the rest of this week looks promising for good local catches so everyone at Clamms has collectively crossed their fingers and toes in hopes of Rock flathead, Garfish, King George, Snappers and other local beauties being available before the weekend.
