Market Report

27-05-2014

We've been really lucky with the weather and had a great run of catches in the last few weeks, but it looks like this may be about to change.

There are some dark and angry looking skies brewing out my window as I write this report and the word around the markets is there may be some average weather coming, unfortunately we're getting the same sort of news from New Zealand.

On the bright side though the weather is never a certainty and Clamms is still getting some quality product at really great prices; The price of Snapper has continued to come down over the weekend and is now incredible value for money, Calamari catches have continued to improve in S.A and the Victorian fisherman are pulling in unprecedented volumes of Calamari as well as other local goodies like Tommy Roughs, Garfish, King George Whiting, Bonito, School Whiting, XL Cuttlefish and some really great quality long line baby Snapper.

You must check out our Bulk Buys this week Snapper and Rockling are on there at silly cheap pricing, we have some frozen goodies to choose from including Australian tiger prawns as well as a limited amount of the very tasty Cape Grim YG Cube Roll (Scotch Fillet) at some red hot prices! We are getting a consistent supply of New Zealand caught Sea Bream more specifically from the Coromandel coast, this fish is line caught and of exceptional quality.

We are expecting Flounders to be hard to get until around Thursday or Friday this week but most other lines will be fine. Finally we've been promised some more of the wonderful Clarence River XL fresh prawns for Thursdays sale, if you haven't yet tried these bad boys this may be your last chance for a while!!! So get your orders in before we sell out!
