Market Report

11-02-2014

Ahh Valentine's day that one day of the year when every restaurant is full of tables for two (by the window if you please sir) sucking back oysters and sipping Champagne.

The good news is we have had quite a good market today with plenty of variety, exceptional quality but not the greatest quantity.

The rest of the week is a bit up in the air with regards to supply but check out the attached photo's for just a sample of the excellent product available;

Red emperor from Darwin, Sea Bream from Portland, Red Mullet out of Lakes Entrance and the first batch of Greasy ( Slimey) Mackerels for some time now compliments of Clarence River N.S.W. Blue swimmer crabs are officially kicking off right now, huge catches are being reported out of South Australia and W.A with the price coming down and expected to stay low for a while. Triploid oysters from Moulting Bay will be available from Thursday as will fresh cooked Spanner crab meat from Mooloolaba.

Wild Barramundi season has just opened although the arrival date and the pricing is yet to be announced, we here at Clamms are hopeful it will be available from next week.

Whatever you do this Friday make sure you treat that special someone to a delicious meal great company (your own preferred) and a lovely evening out.

That wraps up this week's report have a good one!
