Market Report

28-10-2013

We have seen some reasonable catches locally and in New Zealand over the last few days, meaning we have a great variety of species available.  Some local fish remain expensive such as King George Whiting, Trevally and Flathead.

Blue Eye (pictured), Hapuka, Flounder (pictured) and cooking grade Yellowfin Tuna (also pictured) are either on special or quite reasonably priced this week thanks to some good catches.

There are some fantastic quality fish today with stand outs like John Dory (pictured) amazing Calamari, Rock Flathead, Blue Eye and bit of a treat with some New Zealand Soles arriving this morning.

The guys from Fremantle Octopus have informed us of the very difficult fishing conditions they have endured over the last few weeks; meaning supplies are very limited and the lads won’t be processing again until the New Year. See attachment for more details.

The Umi Budo (sea grapes) from Okinawa, Japan have started to take off! we are struggling to keep them on our shelves; try some today!

Finally Clamms Seafood (and most of Victoria) will be closed Tuesday next week thanks to The Melbourne Cup, please be sure to order up sufficiently to cover your needs for the closure.  Oh and best of luck backing a winner!

Thank you from the team at Clamms Seafood
