A very poor market today, although it is showing signs of improving later this week. New Zealand fish has been delayed again meaning usual staples such as Blue Eye and Hapuka are quite scarce. Kingfish and Wild Barramundi will not be around in any sort of volume until Friday. There were a few treats at the market this morning (pictured) it’s great to see Red mullet of this quality and a bit of a surprise to be getting Yabbies this late into Autumn.
This week there will be a limited supply of Blue Eye, Hapuka and John Dory and as mentioned above Kingfish will be unavailable until Friday.
Great supply of Blue Swimmer Crabs, Calamari, Tuna, Black Bream (pictured), Rockling and Trevally.
Later this week (most likely on Friday) we are expecting deliveries of Wild Barramundi, Kingfish, Mahi Mahi and Albacore Tuna.
Price hikes this week include Flathead and Blue Grenadier. Tuna is still high, and if the boats have any luck in catching Blue Eye or John Dory they will be on the high side.
Thanks a lot, Lucas
